It's week 3 in our celebrating Moms and Mother's Day series. This week, meet Cheryl!
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
How many kids/grandkids do you have?
I am a mother of 3. I have 2 sons, Patrick and Matthew and a daughter named Nicole. I am a Grandmother of 2: Ben- Matthew's son and Matthew -Nicole's son. I also have a special little girl in the family - Bella - daughter of Roslyn, our oldest son's girlfriend.
What is your favorite thing about being a grandma?
I have just recently become a grandma, two being born in the past 7 months. It has been exciting to see them and can't wait to take them on trips and excursions, to have traditions. Such as the tradition we have with Bella. For the past 3 years they have come to visit us in Bend over the July 4th holiday. We go to the Pet Parade held on the morning of the 4th, a real little hometown type event. This year we will be adding Matthew to our group.
Do you get to see your kids/grandkids very much or do they live far away?
We live about 3 hours away in Central Oregon. We try to visit as much as possible while we are there and they love to visit Bend over their long weekends. The past 3 years we have started going to Arizona during the winter months.
How is that?
We have been away, except for holidays, pretty much since the babies have been born. But the kids have been great with sending pictures pretty much daily and keeping us updated on their lives. Once I figure out how to Skype, and they get bigger, we'll have that be a big part of staying in touch.
What are your favorite things to do? Do you have any fun hobbies?
My favorite thing to do is travel. I would love to do more but I am enjoying the road trips we have taken thus far. My bucket list is long and it seems as one gets ticked off a few more get added. I love to take pictures, too many the family says, but I don't think you can ever have too many. I love to scrapbook and hope to continue with the new additions to our family. And books-love to read, something I have enjoyed since I was a child.
What do you look for when buying jewelry?
I look for something that can be used for all occasions, striking but yet simple in style. I like to have pieces that can be worn everyday, whether running to the store or out to dinner.
What is your favorite piece of Andrea Wysocki jewelry?
I have 2, the triple open leaves necklace and now my recent purchase of the small open square with labradorite. I love each and every piece I have!
